Ghana Law Society Launched by Speaker Bagbin
Speaker Alban Bagbin officially launched the new Ghana Law Society at its inaugural Annual Bar Conference in Accra.
The Ghana Law Society, a new professional body for lawyers across the country, was officially unveiled on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The launch ceremony took place during the maiden edition of the association’s Annual Bar Conference held in Accra. Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin presided over the event and delivered the keynote address.
This development comes at a time when legal professionals in Ghana have long sought a more coordinated platform to address industry challenges and foster collaboration. While existing bodies such as the Ghana Bar Association have played pivotal roles, the introduction of the Ghana Law Society signals a strategic push for a distinct identity focused on contemporary legal practice and policy advocacy.
Speaker Bagbin emphasized the importance of unity and ethical practice among lawyers, urging members to uphold the tenets of the profession while adapting to evolving societal needs.
