6,000MT LPG Terminal Project Launched to Boost Gas Access

Energy Minister Matthew Jinapor recently emphasized that strategic investments like the newly commissioned 6,000MT LPG terminal at Tema are crucial foundations for this ambition.
The Tema-based facility, operated by Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST), marks a significant step in strengthening Ghana's liquefied petroleum gas infrastructure. Jinapor highlighted during the inauguration that such projects directly support national energy security goals while addressing the urgent need for affordable, accessible cooking solutions across communities.
For ordinary citizens, this development promises potential price stability and wider availability of cooking gas as the supply chain matures. The terminal forms part of broader government initiatives to diversify energy sources and reduce dependency on imported refined petroleum products.
Construction activities continue as planned, with authorities projecting completion of key operational phases before the end of the year, positioning Ghana to better meet rising domestic LPG demand.
