Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh Dompreh calls for stronger collaboration between NPP national leadership and parliamentary caucus ahead of conference in Kumasi

The Minority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh Dompreh, has stressed that the incoming national leadership of the New Patriotic Party must work hand‑in‑hand with the parliamentary caucus to reinforce the party’s work in Parliament.

Speaking ahead of the NPP National Delegates Conference scheduled for Saturday, October 3 in Kumasi, he said the party requires leaders who can tackle national issues and deliver effective opposition.

He warned that the party cannot achieve its goals alone and needs national executives to join forces with the flagbearer to create a full complement of support.

A solid working relationship among the parliamentary caucus, the new national leadership and the flagbearer is essential for advancing the NPP’s political objectives, he added.

The MP also said the new leadership must be ready to scrutinise the government and hold it accountable for promises and deliverables to Ghanaians.

He reminded that the current administration is now facing the same scrutiny it once directed at the opposition, and the party expects incoming executives to adopt a determined, war‑like approach to national challenges without actually calling for armed conflict.

The conference will feature two main processes: review of proposed constitutional amendments and election of national officers.

Annoh-Dompreh expressed confidence that the event will run smoothly and start and end on schedule as planned.

He urged delegates to focus on the constitutional changes before moving to the election of new national officers.

The NPP is using the gathering in Kumasi to reorganise internally ahead of the 2028 general election.

The party has postponed some constitutional amendment proposals, including one on party leadership, to a future conference.

Delegates are expected to vote on the amendments and elect new national officers during the event.

Police presence will be bolstered with 3,000–4,000 officers to manage security and traffic in Kumasi during the conference.

The event is being livestreamed, allowing wider public observation of the party’s internal processes.

NPP officials have assured transparency in the upcoming national elections and highlighted the importance of delegate input over social media influence.

The conference marks a pivotal moment for the party as it prepares to shape its leadership and strategy for the upcoming electoral cycle.
