Yaa Pono Confirms Will Work With Shatta Wale When Right Track Emerges
Yaa Pono says he has no issue collaborating with Shatta Wale if a song with purpose gets made.
Ghanaian rapper Yaa Pono has dismissed concerns about working with Shatta Wale, stating he has no personal grudges against the Dancehall star. In a recent Hitz FM interview with Dr. Pounds, he clarified that disagreements with Shatta Wale are strictly musical, not personal. He emphasized that collaborations thrive when an artiste presents a clear creative vision before reaching out. Yaa Pono explained that he would only feature another musician if approached with a finished song that matches his artistic direction.
The rapper highlighted Sarkodie as a successful example of his feature strategy, noting they have mutual tracks and a history of joint work. He said he would contact Sarkodie directly if he wanted him on a new project. Yaa Pono stressed that his approach is music-focused, not drama-driven, and shaped by his broader views on how Ghanaian artists create together. His remarks come amid ongoing industry conversations about feature dynamics and creative responsibility.
Yaa Pono’s interview reflects a growing emphasis on intentional collaboration over forced partnerships in Ghana’s music scene. Fans can expect future features only when clear artistic alignment exists between artists.
