The Base Movement readies digital structures ahead of 2028 election plans

The Base Movement has unveiled new digital tools and organisational changes as it positions Kennedy Agyapong for future political ambitions.
The Base Movement (TBM) has announced that its fresh organisational set‑up and digital platforms are part of a strategy to boost the profile of Kennedy Agyapong and lay groundwork for the 2028 election cycle.
Mr Agyapong, who ran for the New Patriotic Party’s presidential nomination in 2023 and 2026, is being highlighted by TBM as a key figure in its political roadmap.
Jacob Osei Yeboah, TBM’s Chief Operations Coordinator and head of the National Coordinating Committee, revealed these plans during the launch of the movement’s online radio service, new website and an administrative operations manual at the TBM headquarters in Tesano, Accra.
The launch took place on Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, coinciding with the 117th anniversary of Dr Kwame Nkrumah’s birth, a date TBM used to stress its commitment to economic transformation and political reform.
Yeboah explained that the organisational work aims to reinforce TBM’s structures, grow its membership base and increase its involvement in national policy discussions.
The online membership platform will allow Ghanaians in all 276 constituencies and diaspora supporters to register directly with the movement.
An online radio service will broadcast TBM’s programmes, activities and policy positions to listeners both inside and outside Ghana.
TBM plans to expand its digital footprint on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube, with the new website serving as the central hub for all online activity.
The newly released Administrative Structures and Operations Manual will guide coordination from the national level down to regional, constituency and polling‑station structures.
Yeboah stressed that TBM’s governance model is committee‑based rather than centred on individual leaders, aiming for collective glory.
He noted that previous technical glitches after the July 3 Mega Walk in the Ashanti Region prompted the NCC to streamline its online operations, including the decision to retire the old .com domain and shift to the new .org platform following a September 19 meeting of various teams.
Yeboah added that TBM is open to merging relevant APP A membership data but warned that legal steps could be taken in the UK, US and Australia if data is misused.
In his remarks, Yeboah criticised the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress for forming a duopoly that, in his view, has failed to deliver the development Ghanaians expect.
He announced that the Working Ghana Agenda (WGA) will prioritise youth employment and support for elderly citizens and pensioners.
The movement has indicated that it will continue to build its digital infrastructure as it prepares for future electoral engagements.
