Sports Minister Kofi Adams has called Ghana FA leadership for an emergency meeting on Black Stars' AFCON qualifying collapse.

Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has summoned the Ghana Football Association leadership for a crisis meeting today, October 2, to address the Black Stars' disastrous start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign. Ghana sit bottom of Group C after losing both opening matches, including a 4-2 collapse against The Gambia following a 2-0 lead. The defeats have intensified scrutiny on the football administration and coaching staff. Coach Carlos Queiroz and the GFA mutually agreed to part ways on October 1 after a brief tenure. Adams, also Buem MP, seeks long-term solutions to persistent football challenges. The meeting will examine the team's poor qualifying results and broader structural issues in Ghanaian football. Ghana must now rebound in upcoming October double-header matches against Somalia at Accra Sports Stadium to revive their AFCON hopes. The Black Stars previously missed the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, ending a streak of continental tournament appearances.
