Police Roll Out Traffitech-GH Traffic System from Nov 1
Traffic offenders will face stricter penalties using new digital Ghana Police Service system starting November 1.
The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has finished finalising all arrangements for the national launch of the Traffitech-GH traffic enforcement system. Personnel have been trained and enforcement equipment deployed while the digital platform has been thoroughly tested ahead of full operation. This forms part of a broader strategy to curb road traffic offences across the country.
Starting Monday, November 1, 2022, the system will commence with a focus on addressing speeding violations on public roads. Authorities hope the automated digital approach will improve compliance and reduce accidents on major highways.
Stakeholders including drivers' unions are being consulted to ensure a smooth rollout. Public education campaigns will accompany the enforcement phase to highlight the new penalties and encourage responsible motoring habits.
