Police lock down Kumasi roads for NPP delegates conference
Motorists in Kumasi will face road closures and diversions on Saturday, October 3, as police secure routes for the NPP National Delegates Conference at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced temporary road closures and traffic diversions in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, to manage movement during the New Patriotic Party National Delegates Conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Superintendent Godwin Ahianyo, Head of the Police Public Affairs Unit, explained that the measures are designed to ensure public safety, protect delegates and regulate traffic flow around the venue. Several key routes within the Bridginia and Asakwa areas will be restricted to vehicles, with specific detours directed at major intersections such as Bridginia Traffic Lights and Carvery Methodist Church.
Commercial vehicles travelling from Amakom will be rerouted straight to Asokwa, while those coming from Asafo will be diverted via Bridginia Traffic Lights. Vehicles moving from LLL towards T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School will continue to Amakom Traffic Lights, and traffic from Kumasi City Mall toward Afful Nkwanta Junction will be diverted through Bulldog Restaurant. Motorists heading from Afful Nkwanta will proceed straight to Kumasi City Mall under the new arrangement. Designated parking zones have also been established for different categories of attendees, with the VVIP Car Park reserved exclusively for former Presidents and the NPP presidential candidate, while Scoreboard Parking Area will accommodate MPs, former MPs, MMDCEs and other top officials.
