Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah walks out on Ghc50m bail following voluntary appearance at EOCO.

Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, has been released on a Ghc50 million bail package after presenting himself to the Economic and Organised Crime Office. He made the appearance at EOCO headquarters in Accra around 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, after an Accra High Court warrant was issued for his arrest. The bail comes with three sureties and follows weeks of legal pressure on the MP. EOCO had previously sought the warrant after failing to secure his cooperation in questioning. The investigation focuses on allegations including criminal conspiracy, financial loss to SIC Savings and Loans, money laundering and tax-related breaches. The MP has publicly denied receiving Ghc2.2 million in legal fees and questioned EOCO’s claims about attempts to engage him. His legal team maintains he is cooperating fully with the process. The development marks a significant moment in a case that has drawn public attention across the Ashanti Region. Court proceedings are expected to continue as investigations advance.
