Langabel, Black Stars' Chief Drummer, tells GFA chief Kurt Okraku to vacate his seat after completing two elected terms.

The Black Stars' Chief Drummer, known as Langabel, has called on Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku to relinquish his position after serving two terms. He insists Okraku’s time in office is up and that Ghana football deserves a fresh direction. According to Langabel, the two-term limit was always part of the agreement when the association returned to elective leadership, marking the end of a cycle that began with a normalisation process. He stresses that stakeholders must now allow elected officials to step aside for new leadership to emerge through proper elections. Okraku has held the GFA presidency since 2019, overseeing reforms but also drawing criticism over the Black Stars’ recent performances. After eight years, Langabel says the script demands a handover, and Okraku should have no hesitation in exiting the stage. His counsel carries added weight because he speaks as someone deeply embedded in Ghana’s football culture.
