Charles Owusu Juanah says Paul Afoko can reunite fractured NPP before 2028 elections

Former NPP Chairman Paul Afoko is quietly reaching out to rival party camps as Charles Owusu Juanah warns of electoral danger without unity ahead of 2028
Charles Owusu Juanah, a senior figure in the New Patriotic Party, has declared that former National Chairman Paul Afoko possesses the capacity to mend deepening divisions within the party.
Juanah, who serves as National Chairman of Friends of Bawumia, emphasized that the NPP’s internal fractures pose a serious threat to its 2028 election preparedness. He argues that Afoko’s reputation as a unifying force and his established relationships across rival factions position him to lead a necessary reconciliation effort.
According to Juanah, Afoko has already initiated contact with members of opposing camps, engaging them in dialogue aimed at building consensus. This approach aligns with Afoko’s public “Reunite, Rebuild, and Recapture” philosophy, which prioritises restoring party cohesion over maintaining existing splits.
The legal practitioner stressed that a united NPP structure is essential for effective election strategy. He warned that continued division would leave the party vulnerable and incapable of mounting a credible challenge in 2028.
Afoko’s engagement with disputed factions, Juanah added, reflects a deliberate strategy to win back members who feel marginalised by current party dynamics. This outreach, he believes, could prove decisive in consolidating support ahead of the next electoral cycle.
