Frank Annoh-Dompreh challenges EOCO’s statement that Manhyia South MP was not accessible for interrogation.

Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh has pushed back against the Economic and Organized Crime Office’s (EOCO) assertion that Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah was deliberately evading questioning.

EOCO had told a court that it explored all possible legal channels to get the MP’s voluntary appearance and worried that vital documents tied to its investigation might vanish. But speaking on Joy FM’s Top Story, September 30, Annoh-Dompreh dismissed this, stating the MP has repeatedly shown up for EOCO sessions to represent constituents.

“The MP is a public figure who can be contacted easily. He has answered several EOCO invitations without hesitation. EOCO’s claim that he was hard to reach does not reflect the record,” Annoh-Dompreh said.

He added that the Minority has not seen any official arrest warrant yet and will respond only when proper documentation arrives. “As a law-abiding group, we will follow the correct process before taking any step,” he warned.

Critics suspect political design behind the prosecution, especially amid public complaints about governance. Yet Annoh-Dompreh insists the Minority will still honor due process if the warrant surfaces formally.
