King Promise and Chelsea Release 'Can't Tame Us' Anthem Celebrating African Fans
Ghanaian Afrobeats star King Promise teams up with Chelsea FC to drop 'Can't Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem)', with a music video premiering in Accra on 30 September 2026.
Chelsea Football Club and Ghanaian Afrobeats sensation King Promise have officially released 'Can’t Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem)', a song that honors the deep bond between the club and its African supporters. The track, launched today, blends football passion with Afrobeats rhythms to reflect the pride and unity of Chelsea fans across the continent. It forms part of the club’s broader 'London to the World' cultural initiative, which seeks authentic ways to engage with global communities. This project follows Chelsea’s recent cultural efforts in Brazil, including the development of community football pitches, and places supporters at the heart of its storytelling. The anthem debuted during a Chelsea match earlier this month and will be played at upcoming fixtures throughout the season. A music video, directed by Derrick Arthur, is set to premiere on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, and will spotlight Ghanaian fan culture. Filming took place at two key locations in Accra: the Rent Paid Football Exhibition Tournament, where King Promise organized a local tournament for Chelsea supporter clubs across Ghana, and Nungua SDA Park, the neighborhood where he grew up playing football. The video captures intergenerational fans uniting through their shared love for the club. King Promise founded the Rent Paid movement on the principle that individuals should 'pay rent' to their communities through culture, exercise, and creativity. Each Rent Paid event supports charitable causes, with proceeds going to the Nungua Orphanage in his hometown, which assists children under 16. In a statement, King Promise emphasized that the track is a tribute to the fans who have made Chelsea part of their lives, stating that football and music are powerful tools for bringing people together. Scott Fenton, Chelsea’s Brand Director, described the collaboration as a natural fit, highlighting the club’s desire to celebrate African fan culture beyond the pitch. He noted that music is a powerful way to connect people and that this project exemplifies that belief. The anthem is now available on all major streaming platforms. The upcoming music video premiere in Accra offers fans a chance to experience the story behind the song, with events centered around community, heritage, and shared identity. The video’s release will further strengthen ties between Chelsea, King Promise, and Ghanaian supporters, reinforcing the club’s commitment to cultural engagement in Africa.
