Kennedy Agyapong Pledges $600-Bed Dormitory for Adisadel College

Kennedy Agyapong vows new 600-bed dormitory at Adisadel College in honour of his 81-year group.
Ghanaian politician and businessman Kennedy Agyapong has pledged to build a 600-bed dormitory at Adisadel College, his former school in Cape Coast.
The announcement came during the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the 1981 year group, known as Santa 81, held at Canterbury Hall on the school grounds.
Agyapong said the facility would carry his name once completed and aim to ease housing shortages for students.
The pledge received loud applause from students and staff, with many seeing it as a sign of the school's enduring ties to its alumni.
The project would add significantly to the college's infrastructure, which has long relied on older housing units.
Alumni groups, including Up Santaclausians USA, highlighted the gesture as proof of how school memories can turn into lasting investments.
Construction timelines were not shared, and no budget details were given.
The pledge comes amid growing pressure on Ghanaian schools to expand accommodation for rising student numbers.
Future updates will outline next steps for the dormitory project.
