John Boadu, newly elected NPP National Chairman, calls for party unity and collective focus ahead of 2028 elections.

John Boadu has taken the helm as National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following a closely contested internal election. In his first public address, he urged all contestants to set aside rivalry and work together for a shared party purpose. He stressed that no individual or faction should claim victory while others are left behind, declaring that the NPP must now function as a single, cohesive force. Boadu said his administration will prioritise a renewed party culture that listens more deeply, consults widely and organises with greater precision. He pledged to engage regional and constituency executives, Members of Parliament, party patrons, external branch representatives and other organised groups across the country. The chairman also outlined plans to strengthen ties with voluntary organisations, TESCON members, social media practitioners and traditional media outlets, arguing that modern political communication must reach every segment of society. Youth and tertiary institutions were placed at the centre of his agenda, with a promise that young people should feel the party is their true home. Boadu affirmed that the party would collaborate closely with its flagbearer and national leadership to reinforce its organisational and financial foundations, especially at the constituency level. He warned that electoral success cannot be assumed and must be earned through service, credibility and the trust of Ghanaians. According to him, preparations must begin immediately, rebuilding from the grassroots upward and empowering constituency structures. The chairman highlighted the need to involve women and young people actively in party activities. He called for greater use of technology while preserving the relationships that have historically underpinned party operations. Boadu pledged to serve the NPP with humility, lead through consultation and dedicate his mandate to restoring the party’s winning machinery. He urged members to choose unity over division, service over personal ambition, organisation over disorder and hope over despair. The chairman concluded by stating that ‘JB and his executives are back again’ and that victory is assured in the year 2028, though he cautioned that today is a day of responsibility rather than triumph.
