Miracles Aboagye named NPP Communications Director amid party reorganisation

Dennis Miracles Aboagye takes over as NPP Communications Director after unopposed election at the party's national conference in Kumasi
The New Patriotic Party has confirmed Dennis Miracles Aboagye as its new Director of Communications following an unopposed election at the party's National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026. He replaces Richard Ahiagbah in the communications role, which he will use to guide the party's public messaging as it rebuilds after its 2024 election loss and eyes the 2028 polls. Aboagye brings extensive experience, having served as spokesperson for Vice Presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia during the 2024 campaign and held key government communications posts under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, including overseeing Local Government and Decentralisation matters. His appointment forms part of broader NPP leadership reshuffles that also saw Titus Glover elected National Organiser and Hawa Koomson retained as National Women's Organiser. The party used the Baba Yara Sports Stadium event to swear in all new national executives, with John Boadu urging unity among members after the contentious elections. Aboagye's ascent reflects the NPP's attempt to leverage experienced communicators to reposition the party ahead of the next electoral cycle, with his background in both campaign strategy and government coordination positioning him to shape how the party presents its agenda to Ghanaians seeking change after two terms in office.
