Ahantaman Community Bank receives global cybersecurity certification, urging other Ghanaian banks to follow suit.

Innovare Limited, a Ghanaian-owned technology and consulting firm, has congratulated Ahantaman Community Bank PLC on achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification and compliance with the Bank of Ghana’s Cyber and Information Security Directive 2026. This certification, a globally recognised standard for information security management, validates the bank’s robust systems for protecting data and managing cyber risks. It also strengthens the bank’s ability to safely expand digital banking services, allowing customers to transact remotely with greater confidence. Group CEO Nii Djan Mensah praised the milestone and called on other community banks across Ghana to pursue similar certification to build customer trust in digital banking. He stressed that certification signals a bank’s commitment to operating in a secure digital environment. Innovare Business Advisory’s Albert Turkson highlighted the bank’s dedication during the certification presentation ceremony, noting its importance for future growth and international credibility. Ahantaman CEO Samuel Nyanzu Ackah stated the bank aims to extend its reach beyond its local area, positioning itself as a trusted financial partner for customers wherever they are. He affirmed that customers can rely on the bank to support their growth, regardless of physical location. The certification reflects years of effort to strengthen security infrastructure and protect critical business assets. Innovare, accredited by Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority, has supported the bank throughout the process. The company, established in 2006, has helped numerous Ghanaian and African institutions adopt global standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 22301 and PCI-DSS. This achievement places Ahantaman among a small number of financial institutions in Ghana to meet this international benchmark. It also aligns with growing recognition of cybersecurity’s role in national financial stability. The bank’s leadership believes this milestone will enhance its reputation and support broader ambitions in digital innovation and customer service.
