Ghana hosts maiden Black Star Fashion Week

Ghana prepares for its first national fashion week featuring designers and industry leaders.
Ghana is set to host its inaugural Black Star Fashion Week in Accra and Senchi, spotlighting the nation's fashion industry and creative economy. The event, backed by the Presidency and led by Rex Owusu Marfo, brings together designers, policymakers and investors for a two-day programme.
The Black Star Fashion Summit will open on November 4 in Accra, gathering stakeholders to discuss innovation, sustainability and exports. A key feature will be the 16-Region Designer Programme, showcasing emerging talent from across Ghana in presentations tied to their cultural heritage and materials.
Five designers will be shortlisted during the summit, with one advancing to a flagship fashion show. The event aims to connect Ghanaian fashion with global markets through workshops on branding, digital sales and textile technology.
