MOBA must diversify funding to protect Mfantsipim School's legacy beyond 150 years, COO warns

Patrick Ebo Kittoe, COO of SIB Liberia Limited and a 1996 Mfantsipim alumnus, told the Mfantsipian Old Boys Association that its heavy reliance on donations threatens the school's long-term stability. Speaking at the 11th MOBA Annual Engagement Series in Accra, he urged the group to develop independent revenue streams to secure the school's heritage for future generations. Kittoe highlighted that 92% of MOBA's GH¢10.7 million revenue came from donations, sponsorships and dues, making it vulnerable to donor influence and funding gaps. He warned that reduced foreign aid, like recent US policy shifts, could cripple operations if alternative income sources are not established. kittoe stressed that true sustainability requires balancing environmental responsibility, cultural respect and financial independence without compromising future generations. The call comes as MOBA seeks to rethink its financing model to ensure uninterrupted support for the school's mission.
