Firefighters Contain Blaze Behind Amasaman China Mall
Multiple fire tenders deployed to douse fire behind Amasaman China Mall as investigations begin.
Firefighters from Amasaman, Ablemkpe, Madina and the national headquarters of the Ghana National Fire Service converged on the scene behind Amasaman China Mall on Tuesday afternoon. Four fire tenders worked to contain the blaze that erupted near the mall’s rear entrance. Personnel from four stations fought to stop flames from reaching adjoining buildings. The cause of the fire remains unclear. No injuries were reported. This incident follows closely on a fire at the Duraplast factory in Accra two days earlier. That fire injured eight workers. Two victims required hospitalization after a poly tank collapsed. The National Ambulance Service confirmed their transfer to Holy Trinity Hospital. Duraplast announced plans to restart production on Monday October 5. Fire service officials emphasized vigilance after recent incidents. Investigations into both fires continue. Authorities urged the public to avoid the area temporarily. Emergency services maintained a strong presence throughout the night. No disruptions to public services occurred. The mall’s management declined immediate comment.
