Expert warns against complacency in Ghana’s counter-terrorism efforts

Accra – Security analyst Nana Yaw Asamoah has cautioned Ghanaians against growing complacency regarding the country's success in preventing terrorist activities.

He emphasized that recent achievements should not lull authorities and citizens into false security, stressing that complacency could weaken the gains made so far.

Asamoah pointed out that technology alone cannot man borders, warning that porous borders remain a vulnerability if not continuously monitored and secured through adequate resources and personnel.

This appeal comes at a time when Ghana has significantly reduced cross-border attacks and prevented terrorist infiltration in the last two years.

The analyst underscored the need for sustained investment in border infrastructure and intelligence sharing to maintain security achievements.
