Effia MP Calls For GFA Overhaul After Black Stars Defeat
Effia MP demands sack of Kurt Okraku and restructuring of Ghana's football administration following the 4-2 loss to Gambia.
The Member of Parliament for Effia, Isaac Boamah-Nyarko, publicly called for the removal of Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku and a complete reshaping of the nation’s football governance after the Black Stars fell to a 4-2 defeat against The Gambia. He argued that the loss was a clear sign of what he described as the ongoing decline of Ghana football and urged that existing structures be dismantled to rebuild a competitive system. Boamah-Nyarko stressed that the GFA’s leadership as well as the Ministry of Youth and Sports must be held accountable for the team’s recent setbacks. He warned that Ghana must reconsider how football is administered from the grassroots to the national level. His call follows the Black Stars’ opening loss in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on September 29.
