Government insider links regulatory delays to stalled private sector investment growth across Ghana

The Chief of Staff has underscored the urgent need for swift judicial resolution of commercial disputes as a cornerstone for sustaining Ghana's 24-hour economy drive.

Speaking at the inaugural Ghana Law Society Annual Bar Conference, Dr Debrah warned that prolonged contract enforcement creates significant exposure for operating businesses within this economic model.

She highlighted that regulatory ambiguity and delayed dispute resolution directly discourage private sector participation, particularly among investors seeking predictable operating environments.

The Chief of Staff noted these challenges risk deterring capital inflow precisely when Ghana aims to leverage its commercial momentum.

Addressing over two hundred legal practitioners in Accra, she emphasized that resolving commercial cases faster constitutes a fundamental operational requirement.

Ongoing discussions between the Justice Ministry and economic planners seek to redesign case prioritization frameworks.

Authoritiesproject adjustments to contractual adjudication processes will feature in the upcoming Justice Sector Strategic Plan.

The Chief of Staff indicated these reforms will target reducing average resolution timelines by half within eighteen months.
