The University of Ghana has risen 114 places in the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027.

The University of Ghana has vaulted 114 positions in the 2027 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, landing in the 801 to 1000 bracket. This marks a significant climb from its previous standing.

The rank comes as the institution executes its 2024-2029 Strategic Plan, which focuses on research, teaching and community impact. The university’s council chairman highlighted how steady progress on this roadmap is reshaping its global perception.

Times Higher Education evaluated over 2,297 institutions worldwide and grouped them into bands. UG’s placement reflects growing strengths in key areas that matter to students and faculty across the continent.

The council’s spokesperson emphasized that this momentum will continue as the university refines its teaching methods and expands postgraduate offerings in the coming years.
