Patience Ozokwo mourns missed Olu Jacobs funeral in Nigeria

Veteran Kumawood actress Patience Ozokwo has spoken openly about the anguish she feels for not being able to attend the funeral of veteran Nollywood star Olu Jacobs.

She is currently in Ghana working on a film project with popular local actor Kwadwo "Lil Win".

Because of this schedule she is bound by contractual obligations that prevent her from returning to Nigeria at this time.

Ozokwo said she would give anything to be present in Lagos to join her colleagues in honouring Jacobs.

The funeral is scheduled for 31 July 2023 in Ibadan, Nigeria.

She described the situation as heartbreaking and admitted that seeing Jacobs off would have meant a great deal to her.

Her generation of actors grew up alongside Jacobs and helped shape the early years of Nollywood.

Ozokwo said her thoughts remain with Jacobs’ family, friends and the wider industry during this period.

She also expressed confidence that Jacobs’ legacy will continue to inspire future filmmakers.

The actress concluded her message with a quiet farewell to the late star.
