NSA opens first batch of over 70,000 National Service opportunities for the upcoming 2026/27 service year.
The National Service Authority has released its first set of postings for 70,072 National Service Personnel destined for the 2026/27 service year. This batch covers a range of public and private institutions across key sectors identified for national posting.
Unlike last year, there were no Regional Validation Centres during this release cycle. Posting letters will instead be delivered directly to accredited institutions - including the Post Graduate College of Education, nursing training colleges, midwifery schools and various service schemes.
Students starting their National Service in January 2027 must check their SMSs and school portals for assignment details later this month. The full stream of postings expected from October 10 means institutions will receive their staff packs by November 15.
The lengthy 2025/26 name-checking cycle documented financial irregularities raised serious governance concerns across tertiary institutions.
Institutions must renew accreditation before deployment, and NSSA advises all students to ensure their locations and renewal records are verified through back-to-work protocols.
