NPP elects new national executives at delegates conference

John Boadu wins National Chairman role amid fresh party leadership lineup
The New Patriotic Party has unveiled its freshly elected national executives following the just‑ended delegates conference in Kumasi. John Boadu captured 2,888 votes to become the party’s National Chairman, taking over the reins of the party’s national administration. He will preside over a newly constituted executive committee chosen by the delegates. In the General Secretary contest, Justin Frimpong Kodua held onto his post with 4,486 votes, beating rival contenders. Daniel Titus Glover secured the National Organiser slot with 2,964 votes, while Alfred Kwajo Thompson emerged as National Treasurer after receiving 2,243 votes. The party also filled three National Vice Chairperson positions, with Kojo Fosu Bwedu taking First Vice Chairman, Henry Nana Boakye as Second Vice Chairman and Nana Akomea as Third Vice Chairman. Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye was elected National Communications Director unopposed, while Abanga Yakubu Fuseni claimed the National Youth Organiser role. Hawa Koomson was voted National Women’s Organiser, and Mohammed Ali Suraj won the National Nasara Organiser seat after gathering 372 votes, ahead of Salim Mansuru Bamba’s 311 and Awal Mohammed’s 106. The election produced a complete national executive line‑up charged with steering the party’s organisational and political affairs. The outcome follows the 2022 conference where Kodua had previously defeated Boadu for the General Secretary position. The newly elected team is expected to drive the NPP’s national administration and coordinate its activities leading up to future electoral battles. A billboard collapse at the conference site left four vehicles damaged, and the police have pledged to deploy 3,000–4,000 officers to manage security and traffic in Kumasi during the event. The party’s leadership expressed commitment to unity and collective responsibility as they prepare to steer the party forward.
