NPP assures transparent election of national officers in Kumasi

NPP Director of Elections says all processes for the party's national elections have been followed ahead of the conference at Baba Yara Stadium
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has confirmed that its upcoming national officers’ election will be held openly in Kumasi and that every step will follow established rules. At a press briefing before the National Delegates Conference scheduled for Saturday, October 3 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the party’s Director of Elections, Evans Nimako, said organisers had met all procedural requirements and granted aspirants access to delegate registers. He explained that each candidate received both provisional and final lists of delegates and that full accreditation of voting delegates was completed prior to the event. The Electoral Commission will supervise the election under the watch of the party’s National Officers Elections Committee. Earlier concerns raised by some aspirants about the delegate register were addressed during a validation exercise in which disputed entries were cross‑checked with documents submitted by regional and institutional bodies. Thousands of accredited delegates are expected to cast their votes at the stadium on the day of the conference. The party has also announced that 46 candidates are competing for the votes of 7,163 delegates, and a livestream of the proceedings will be available for followers who wish to watch remotely. Heavy security measures have been deployed around the venue to ensure order and safety throughout the voting process.
