LIFECHECK 2026 reaches over 13,000 Dansoman residents with health and social services
Thousands in Dansoman, Mamprobi, Chorkor, Lartebiokoshie and nearby areas received free health checks, education support and nutrition aid through a community outreach drive.
More than thirteen thousand people living in Dansoman, Mamprobi, Chorkor, Lartebiokoshie and surrounding neighborhoods have taken part in LIFECHECK 2026, a community outreach programme that delivered health screenings, educational support, nutrition assistance and social welfare help.
The initiative was led by a coalition of local health workers, teachers and social service providers who set up temporary clinics and learning centres across the communities.
Participants received free blood pressure and glucose tests, immunisations and health education sessions aimed at early disease detection and prevention.
Children and adult learners were given school supplies and tutoring support to strengthen basic academic skills.
Nutrition teams distributed fortified meals and taught families simple ways to prepare balanced diets using locally available foods.
Social welfare officers connected families with support for elderly relatives, disability care and emergency financial assistance where needed.
Speaking at the closing ceremony in Dansoman, the programme coordinator highlighted the importance of bringing services directly to the neighbourhood level.
He said the success of LIFECHECK 2026 shows that coordinated community action can fill gaps where public services are stretched.
Local leaders praised the outreach for its practical impact and called for similar exercises to be repeated in other high-density areas.
The organisers have announced plans to expand the next phase of LIFECHECK to additional communities later this year.
Residents are expected to receive details about the next round of activities through local churches and market associations.
