Manhyia South MP to voluntarily present himself to EOCO over pending case

Samuel Atta Akyea says the MP is turning himself in to prevent any misuse of a court warrant.
The lawyer for the MP for Manhyia South, Samuel Atta Akyea, explained why his client will present himself to the Economic and Organised Crime Office. He said the decision was about avoiding any possible abuse of a warrant, not about fear. In an interview on Adom TV’s Badwam, Atta Akyea said the MP was ready to go to the office at any hour to hear what the case is about. He stressed that the MP would go voluntarily, without handcuffs, and would not flee the country. The lawyer called for the process to be run without any unnecessary showmanship. The MP’s attorney also reminded the public that if the MP runs away, he will lose his parliamentary seat. He urged the authorities to let the law work without media spectacle. The MP is expected to appear before the police office of the Economic and Organised Crime Office today
