James Agalga rebukes Minority's call for probe into cocaine busts

The Majority Leader, James Agalga, has dismissed calls by the Minority for a parliamentary probe into the recent cocaine busts. According to him, the motion put forth by the Minority is "completely premature" because state agencies are still conducting investigations. Agalga stressed that any parliamentary effort at this stage would interfere with ongoing work by the relevant authorities.
He made these remarks when the Minority in Parliament raised the issue of the recent cocaine busts and called on the House leadership to initiate an investigation. The Majority Leader argued that it is too early to talk about the topic given that investigations are still ongoing. He noted that the Minority's motion is "completely premature" and it is not yet time to discuss the matter in Parliament.
