ECG Announces Scheduled Power Cut in Parts of Accra

The Electricity Company of Ghana will shut power in parts of Accra's East Region on Friday, Oct 2, for maintenance work affecting Oyarifa, Ayimensah and surrounding communities.
The Electricity Company of Ghana has confirmed a scheduled power outage in some parts of Accra on Friday, October 2. The outage, lasting from 9am to 5pm, affects only areas within the Accra East Region where planned maintenance is underway. These include Oyarifa, Ayimensah, the Prisons Training School, School Junction, University Farms and nearby neighborhoods. Residents and businesses in these zones will be without electricity for several hours during the day. ECG explained that this maintenance is part of efforts to improve power reliability across the area. The notice, released on Wednesday, September 30, warned of the temporary disruption and urged affected persons to prepare ahead of time. While the company apologized for the inconvenience, it stressed that the work is necessary to strengthen future service delivery. No alternative community names were mentioned beyond those listed in the official areas.
