Adom Trotro: Trotro Drivers Call for Deeper Education on TraffiTech Postponement
Commercial drivers at Dansoman station demand clearer education on TraffiTech's delayed rollout ahead of November enforcement.
The growing frustration among Trotro drivers in Dansoman stems from a complete lack of official communication about the new TraffiTech GH system.
Without any clear announcements or materials reaching the public, drivers say they are left guessing how the technology will function or what specific behaviours will trigger enforcement.
This uncertainty has been amplified by earlier confusion over the enforcement timeline.
Originally set for October 1, 2024, the Ghana Police Service confirmed a delay to November 1, 2026, citing the need for broader stakeholder engagement.
Yet drivers argue that even this extended window may not suffice if public education remains limited and haphazard.
On Adom Trotro, Prince Owusu Asiedu highlighted what they want: structured outreach through transport unions, radio durbars, and station-based briefings.
They insist that without face-to-face workshops and visual demonstrations, drivers will remain vulnerable to sudden penalties.
While the Police say the reprieve is meant to boost awareness, the burden of clarity now falls on agencies to deliver it.
No formal public forums have yet been announced, but plans for piloting TraffiTech on select corridors are underway.
