The Ghana Police Service has announced that the full rollout of the automated traffic law enforcement programme, known as TRAFFITECH-GH, will now begin on November 1, 2026 instead of October 1. The change comes after a period of testing and stakeholder consultation.
Transport experts say the delay will affect drivers who were preparing for the new system, especially commercial vehicle operators in Accra and Kumasi who rely on clear enforcement timelines. The police say the extra month will be used to fine‑tune the technology and address feedback from pilot phases.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to curb road traffic violations and improve road safety across the country.
