MTN Ghana marks 30th anniversary with vibrant street float in Accra

Ghanaian customers, fans and market traders turned out in numbers as MTN celebrated its 30th anniversary with a colourful street procession along Oxford Street, showcasing its heritage and future plans
Ghanaians thronged Oxford Street in Accra on Friday to witness a lively street float that formed part of MTN Ghana's 30th-anniversary commemorations. The telecom giant used the procession to engage directly with its customers, partners and the wider public, highlighting the role it has played in connecting the country for three decades. Troops of drummers and MCs anchored the event, encouraging followers of the brand to join the celebration that also promised fresh offers and new services.
MTN was introduced into Ghana in 2000 and quickly grew to become the country's leading mobile network provider, shaping how Ghanaians communicate and conduct business online. Its entry coincided with a period of rapid growth in the nation's telecom sector, positioning the company as a key player in the country's digital transformation.
The float Libation was followed by a stakeholder gathering where industry leaders, regulators and customers exchanged views on the future of connectivity in Ghana. Participants expressed excitement about the celebrations and looked forward to the upcoming digital innovations that MTN promised to roll out.
When the festivities conclude, MTN has indicated that it will launch a series of promotions and giveaways across its platforms to thank subscribers for their loyalty over the past thirty years.
