Mahama, Lordina To Join World Assemblies of God Congress In Accra

President Mahama and First Lady Lordina will attend the 2026 World Assemblies of God Congress in Accra from Oct 14-16
The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Ghana Rev Stephen Yenusom Wengam announced on October 1 that President Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama will attend the World Assemblies of God Congress in Accra. The event runs from October 14 to 16 under the theme Commissioned One Mandate Every Nation. Rev Wengam revealed over 10,000 delegates from 100 countries will attend the historic gathering. He stated this is the first time in the 115 year history of the Assemblies of God that its World Congress has been held in Africa. The ninth triennial congress took place in Spain in 2023 where Tanzania's General Superintendent Rev Barnabas Mtokambali proposed Ghana as host. Ghana accepted and prepared for the global event with divine support he said. A Local Organising Committee chaired by Rev Andrews Nelson Awintia was inaugurated to manage arrangements. The Secretariat led by Gifty Agyei Fiankoh has handled the massive task effectively he added. The congress features morning sessions at Black Star Square from 9am to 5:30pm for training church leaders and members. Evening revival rallies will follow at the Accra Sports Stadium with free attendance he noted. Rev Wengam emphasized the theme Commissioned One Mandate Every Nation is a call to win souls and plant one million churches by 2033 known as the MM33 target. He appealed to the media to give the congress maximum coverage highlighting its economic benefits for Ghana. He said the influx of delegates will boost hospitality transport and local businesses significantly. The president and first lady's presence underscores national importance he added. This global assignment requires serious execution he stressed. When the congress history is written Ghanaian media will be acknowledged uniquely he said
