GAUA strike paralyzes UCC academic activities
University administrators' industrial action halts lectures, registration and other processes at the University of Cape Coast.
The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has resumed its industrial action, bringing university operations at the University of Cape Coast to a standstill just days after it was reopened. Registration of new students, continuation of teaching and other academic routines have all been disrupted as the Association demands better conditions of service for its members. University management has appealed for dialogue but no formal agreement has yet been reached. The strike has affected thousands of continuing and fresh students who were expected to resume classes this month. A final round of negotiations is scheduled later this week.
