Asogli Kingdom Concludes 2026 Yam Festival With Grand Durbar In Ho

The Asogli Kingdom has successfully rounded off the 2026 Te Za Yam Festival with a vibrant durbar at Ho Jubilee Park, celebrating cultural heritage and community unity.
The chiefs, queens and people of the Asogli Traditional Area have successfully rounded off the 2026 Te Za Yam Festival with a grand durbar at Ho Jubilee Park in the Volta Region. The three-day celebration, which began on Thursday, featured traditional drumming, dance performances, and thanksgiving rites to honour ancestral land and the harvest. Participants from across the traditional area gathered to display colourful regalia and indigenous crafts while elders performed rites to ensure continued prosperity. The event marked the culmination of Te Za, a centuries-old festival dedicated to the earth goddess and the yam harvest, which remains central to Asogli agricultural cycles and social cohesion. Local farmers expressed gratitude for a bountiful yield, while youth groups showcased traditional games that reinforce cultural identity. The Asogli Traditional Council organisers confirmed that the festival drew thousands of indigenes and visitors from neighbouring districts, reinforcing communal bonds. No official statement was released regarding future editions, but the successful conclusion has set expectations for maintaining the cultural tradition in subsequent years.
