Accra launches new BRT bus corridor to ease Kaneshie traffic

A dedicated bus lane between Kaneshie and the Central Business District aims to cut commute times by half.
The Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council has opened a new bus rapid transit corridor linking Kaneshie to the Central Business District.
Officials say the dedicated lane will cut peak commute times from over an hour to about 25 minutes. The service starts with 40 buses running from 05:00 to 22:00 daily.
Commuters welcomed the move, though drivers' unions have called for consultations on route allocations. A second corridor toward Madina is planned for next year.
