The role: Trainer Mine Operations Training at Newmont Corporation is a full‑time position based at the Ahafo South mine site, reporting to Newmont’s Accra Hub. What you will do: Deliver competency‑based drilling training for equipment such as Sandvik D45KS, DP1500i, DR560 Cubex and CATMD6200 using classroom, field and practical coaching methods. Develop and maintain training materials, assessment tools and competency frameworks. Assess operator competence, create development plans and keep accurate training records. Analyse training effectiveness, report on performance metrics and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Safety teams to address training needs. Provide MineStar application training for drill operators and support Talent Acquisition with recruitment assessments. What you need: A Diploma or Degree in Drilling, Mining Engineering or Mechanical Engineering plus a Workplace Trainer/Assessor Certificate and Mincom Trainer Certificate. Minimum five years of hands‑on surface drilling experience, with at least two years in training, coaching or supervisory roles. Proven ability to design and deliver drilling training programmes, assess competence and work with diverse crews. Knowledge of Ghana Occupational Health and Safety laws, advanced communication skills, leadership ability and strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office. Self‑awareness, teamwork, collaboration and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement are essential.
