The role: Technical Officer (Vector Control) at Ghana Health Service. The employer is Ghana Health Service. What you will do: Provide technical input into planning and implementing vector control interventions such as ITN distribution, IRS and larval source management under the supervision of a Medical Entomologist. Support design and review of vector control strategies aligned with the National Malaria Elimination Strategic Plan. Coordinate and monitor insecticide resistance surveillance and entomological monitoring, reporting findings to the Medical Entomologist. Provide technical guidance and supervision to regional and district vector control teams. Analyse entomological and programmatic data to inform decisions. Support development of technical guidelines, training and supportive supervision. Contribute to technical reports, work plans and donor reports for review by the Medical Entomologist. Represent NMEP at technical meetings, workshops and conferences, and perform other assigned duties. What you need: Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Entomology, Environmental Science, Public Health or related field; Master’s degree is an advantage. Minimum three years relevant experience in vector control, entomology or malaria/vector-borne disease programmes. Experience with data analysis software such as Excel, SPSS, R is an advantage. What you need also includes sound knowledge of malaria vector control interventions and resistance management, strong technical and analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgement, leadership and capacity‑building abilities, effective communication, report‑writing, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team and travel for supervision.
