The role: Supervisor-Welding at AngloGold Ashanti’s Iduapriem Gold Mine in Ghana. The employer is AngloGold Ashanti, a global gold mining company operating across 10 countries. The position is full-time and reports to the Engineering department at the Iduapriem site. What you will do: Lead and mentor a team of boilermakers, fitters, and contract welders in planning and executing welding, fabrication, and structural maintenance tasks within the crushing plant. Ensure all work follows engineering drawings, welding procedures, and safety standards. Conduct quality checks, coordinate non-destructive testing, manage welding consumables and equipment, and oversee repairs during plant shutdowns to maintain operational uptime. Prepare daily reports, track material usage, and control budgets within set limits. What you need: A Diploma, HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication, or Welding, plus 8–10 years of experience in heavy structural steel, piping, and plant maintenance, with 3–5 years in a supervisory role. Must hold a valid Ghanaian Driving License, be certified as a welding inspector (AWS CWI, CSWIP 3.1, or equivalent) where applicable, and have hands-on expertise in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and cutting techniques. Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, using SAP or CMMS, and Microsoft Office tools.
