The role: The Senior Officer, Finance position is offered by a reputable public institution located in Accra. The employer seeks a senior professional to provide strategic financial oversight and leadership. What you will do: - Provide technical input into the formulation and review of financial policies, procedures, and systems. - Supervise the implementation of approved financial management programmes and activities. - Coordinate the preparation of accurate financial statements, management accounts, and periodic financial reports. - Develop, implement, and review budgeting guidelines, procedures, and systems. - Monitor revenue and expenditure performance against approved budgets and advise the Director, Finance with timely analysis. - Support identification and analysis of funding requirements and financing gaps to inform resource mobilisation. - Liaise with Directorates and stakeholders on budget preparation, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. - Ensure compliance of budgeting activities with public financial management laws, regulations, and fiscal policies. - Provide budgetary and financial input into institutional proposals and initiatives. - Coordinate implementation of audit recommendations related to budgeting and controls. - Review budget performance reports and recommend corrective actions. - Coordinate the unit’s annual work plan and budget. - Support the performance management system within the unit. - Supervise and appraise subordinate staff. - Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Finance. What you need: - A master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. - Membership of a relevant professional body, where applicable. - Minimum of 8 years of post‑bachelor’s relevant work experience, with at least 4 years in a senior management position within a reputable institution. - Ability to pass the selection interview conducted jointly by the institution and the Public Services Commission.
