Senior Manager, Platform Operations at MTN Ghana

The role is a senior managerial position within the IT Operations department of MTN Ghana, reporting to the General Manager of IT Operations. It focuses on strategic leadership and operational excellence for the organization’s enterprise technology platforms. The incumbent ensures the availability, resilience, security, performance, and continuous improvement of platforms that support all business services across a dynamic, regulated, and multinational environment. Key responsibilities include developing and executing the enterprise platform operations strategy, leading platform engineering, DevOps, and database administration teams, and driving modernization and automation initiatives. The role oversees API platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, cloud operations (Azure/AWS), and ensures high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery for mission-critical services. It also involves vendor management, budget control, cost optimization, and fostering stakeholder collaboration with engineering, architecture, security, and business units to align platform capabilities with business priorities. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, with at least eight years of progressive experience in enterprise IT operations, including five years in a leadership role managing multidisciplinary technical teams. Proven experience in DevOps transformation, CI/CD implementation, database administration (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.), and cloud infrastructure is essential.
