Security Officer at Ghana Health Service
The role: The position is a Security Officer role with the Ghana Health Service, reporting to the Director of Human Resource Development. What you will do: The officer will control and monitor access to NMEP facilities, verify and document all visitors, contractors, staff and vehicles, and conduct security checks on persons, vehicles, bags and parcels. They will safeguard NMEP assets, equipment and restricted areas, perform regular patrols, monitor CCTV and alarms, ensure all access points are secured, and respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies and distress calls. They will also lead evacuation procedures, provide basic first aid when required, investigate and document security breaches, maintain accurate logs and reports, and coordinate with law enforcement where necessary. What you need: Candidates must have a Senior High School certificate or equivalent, plus either a higher national diploma with a security management certificate or a related field. They need at least two years of experience as a security officer or guard, preferably in a government institution, public health facility or similar organisation. Experience with CCTV, access control systems and electronic security equipment is required, and exposure to international partner programmes is an advantage. Strong written and verbal English communication skills are essential, with proficiency in a Ghanaian language being beneficial.
