Principal Officer, Finance at Reputable Institution
The role: A reputable public institution is seeking a Principal Officer, Finance to provide senior professional and supervisory support for the effective management of the institution’s finances in line with applicable laws, regulations, policies and accounting standards. The employer is a well‑known public organization based in Accra. What you will do: Provide technical input into the formulation and review of financial policies, procedures and systems; supervise the implementation of approved financial programmes; coordinate the preparation of accurate financial statements, management accounts and periodic reports; supervise recording, classification and reconciliation of transactions; ensure proper maintenance and safeguarding of accounting records; monitor compliance with public financial management laws and internal controls; support budgeting and budget‑performance monitoring; supervise subordinate staff and appraisal; and perform other duties as assigned. What you need: A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline from an accredited institution; membership of a relevant professional body where applicable; at least six years of post‑bachelor relevant experience in a reputable institution; strong knowledge of public financial management laws, regulations and accounting standards; and proven supervisory experience.
