The role: The Communications NSP will join ACET’s Communications, Knowledge Management and Advocacy team for a one‑year national service placement in Accra, reporting to the Communications and Knowledge Manager. The position offers hands‑on experience in digital communications, content creation and policy advocacy within a leading African development think‑tank. What you will do: Support the team with weekly social‑media uploads using scheduling tools, monitor online engagement and suggest ways to increase reach, design event flyers and welcome cards in Canva, manage Zoom webinar set‑ups and live technical assistance, curate and format the quarterly newsletter in Mailchimp, draft procurement requests for videography, photography and interpretation services, help shoot and edit videos, and pitch creative ideas to highlight ACET’s work. In knowledge management, maintain the publications database, update Wikipedia entries and create pages for flagship products. For events, develop guest and media lists, send and follow‑up invitations via Mailchimp, and assist with logistics. General tasks include updating media contact lists, preparing weekly coverage summaries, maintaining the contact database, taking meeting notes, tracking key moments, assisting with event photography and performing other duties as assigned. What you need: A bachelor’s degree in communications, development communications, public relations, journalism or a related field, plus 1–2 years of relevant experience in communications, digital content creation or social‑media management (internships or volunteer work may count). Experience in a development or non‑profit setting is advantageous. You must have strong writing and editing skills, proficiency with social‑media management tools and Canva, ability to manage Zoom webinars, competence in internet research and database maintenance, excellent organization and multitasking abilities, and good interpersonal skills for a hybrid work environment.
