The role: The Head of Finance position is offered by South Akim Community Bank PLC, a community bank operating in Akim. The employer seeks a professional to lead the finance function of the institution. What you will do: Ensure compliance with Banking Law, Companies Act 2019 (Act 992), Bank of Ghana, ARB Apex Bank and internal policies. Advise on and implement reliable accounting systems and corporate financial policies. Initiate, coordinate and consolidate the bank’s budget and targets. Produce monthly and periodic financial and management accounts and reports for internal, statutory and regulatory use. Implement and maintain internal financial controls to ensure accurate financial information. Advise on financial risk implications of decisions and review financial evaluations of projects. Develop accounting policies, operating standards and support systems. Manage month-end reporting processes and explain variances to management and board. Prepare and submit statutory reports and returns to Apex Bank, BoG, GRA, External Auditors and SSNIT. Maintain the General Ledger and manage fixed assets. Oversee treasury functions. Supervise preparation of financial reports. What you need: Professional Accounting Qualification such as ACCA II, CIMA III or ICA II. A Master’s Degree in a related field is advantageous. A University degree in Accounting or Banking Finance is required. At least five years of experience in a similar role. Demonstrated analytical, critical and detail-oriented abilities. Proactive, innovative and dynamic problem-solving skills. High personal integrity. Strong interpersonal communication and report-writing competencies. Knowledge of T24 Banking software and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Location: Akim.
