Driver (VIP) at African Union

The role: The African Union is seeking a Driver (VIP) to provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation services for designated officials, ensuring efficient mobility and support for official meetings and engagements. This position reports to the AU Secretariat and is based in Accra, Ghana. What you will do: Drive official vehicles to transport VIPs, senior officials, diplomatic representatives, and visiting delegations to and from designated locations, including airport pick-up and drop-off services. Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks, monitor oil, water, battery, and brake conditions, and maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and servicing. Adhere to Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS) and all applicable security protocols. Assist in coordinating logistical arrangements for official meetings, events, and engagements, and maintain up-to-date transportation records in compliance with AU policies. What you need: A minimum of a high school certificate, a clean, valid driver’s license, and at least three (3) years of driving experience in a registered international organization, national organization, or public service agency. Experience supporting VIP personnel or official missions is advantageous. Valid First Aid, CPR, or emergency response certification is desirable. Defensive VIP driving training and proficiency in MS Word and Excel are added advantages. Ability to work under minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate integrity, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment.
