Corporate Credit Manager at Absa Group

The role: The Corporate Credit Manager will join Absa Group's corporate team and act as the credit expert for nominated Relationship Managers. You will manage a portfolio of high‑value, complex customer relationships and serve as the conduit for credit sanctioning. What you will do: Assess business and credit risks, develop practical credit solutions, and prepare high‑quality credit applications with supporting documentation. You will monitor and control the portfolio using sanction conditions, discuss trigger events with the sanctioner, and ensure accurate financial information is maintained. You will also collaborate with Relationship Managers, attend customer meetings when credit issues arise, and contribute to change‑management initiatives. What you need: A bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Business, Commerce or Management Studies. You should have strong risk‑assessment and analytical skills, solid knowledge of credit programs, and good interpersonal, communication and negotiation abilities.
